November 6, 2009 - Her First Smile!!! Kori smiled for the first time tonight!!! On purpose!!! It wasn't a fart, I promise. [tee hee] We were out eating at M. Beaux, a Cajun restaurant in Carlos, TX, and I was playing with her while waiting on our food and she bust out a big huge smile. It was just precious. I got her to do it a few more times by acting completely stupid of course, but the point is, she was smiling on her own! We have gotten a few more smiles out of her since then and I hope by Thanksgiving it will be pretty easy to make her smile so that I can share it will all of my family that doesn't get to see her often. November 3, 2009 - 2 Month Check-Up Kori went to her two month check-up on Nov. 2 and everything looks great. For someone that started out life so petite, she is definitely making up for it. She weighed 11 lbs. 4 oz. (which is exactly 1/2 a pound more than Cooper did at this age) and she was 22 and 3/4 inches long. According to Dr. Schams that put her in the 75% for both height and weight but that sounded a little high to me so after a bit of research I think she is more like 25-50% for weight, but he's the doctor! She got 5 vaccinations; one oral and 3 shots in the legs. She did great considering she didn't know what she was getting into at that appointment. She did cry but only until I could pick her up and after that she calmed down in less than a minute. In typical girl fashion she was a little sensitive about her legs the rest of the day though. Lord help you if you touched them near the injection site - whoo wee. The doctor was pleased with her overall progress and this appointment went rather quickly. On Nov. 3 I went back to work part-time. For the month of November I will work part-time, which in my case is full days but only 3 days a week. This will be a nice transition for me getting back into the habit of going to work and Charlene can get used to keeping kids again. Cooper seems to have adjusted the quickest because now, on the two days a week I'm at home with him and Kori, he is just begging to go to school or Nana's or anywhere but be home. So I guess 9 weeks with me was enough for him - ha ha! I do miss my little baby girl during the hours I'm at work but going back part-time was the best idea I ever had. It's not too much at once and it makes the time I have with her that much better. She was a little stressed out the first week at Nana's but she has come to be used to it and is doing just fine. October 21, 2009 - 7 weeks and growing Well, as you might imagine my updates are few and far between. But I'm busy raising two beautiful kids! Kori is getting so big now - at least it seems. She's wearing newborn clothes still but I think we are down to the last few days/weeks in those. I've started putting her 0-3 months clothes on her and they no longer swallow her but there is still plenty of room in them (thank GOD). On our home scale she weighs around 10 lbs, but it rounds to the nearest half pound so that could be anywhere from 9 lbs 9 oz to 10 lbs 7 oz. Her 2 month check up is scheduled for Nov. 2 (a Monday). I go back to work part-time that following Tuesday. I will work 2-3 days a week for the next three weeks following that and go back to work full-time on Nov. 22. My oh so gracious mother-in-law is keeping both kids for us. Cooper is going to Mother's Day Out 2 days a week though so we think that will help with the madness. Until Nov. 2...I'll work on the picture pages now! September 15, 2009 - 2 week check up As she sleeps all sprawled out on my lap with her big brother asleep on the couch, I'll take this time to update the site with her 2 week check up summary. First, the stats. She gained a whole pound and grew 2 inches!! She is now 6 lbs 12 oz and 20.5" long! According to her doctor she looks great and is growing wonderfully. We go back in 6 weeks for her 2 month check up - that's when the shots start. Sad face.
I confess, I'm typing this in mid-October, but an update is an update! Kori Layne Baggett graced our presence on September 1 at 1:37 pm. She weighed 5 lbs 12 oz and was 18.5 inches long. She came out beautiful and is getting prettier everyday. We are complete. June 21, 2009 - Here she is (in 3D/4D)!! So this text will be brief and I will get straight to uploading pictures! My next official appointment is Thursday, 06/25/09, at which we will be doing an ultrasound for measurements. I will add that information as soon as time allows!! June 14, 2009 - Our 3D Ultrasound is next weekend! On other various pages of our site we've announced the news that we are expecting our second child and the due date is September 15, 2009. On April 21 we got the sex of the baby confirmed and "it" is officially A GIRL! I could not have asked for a more picture perfect family! Her name is set to be Kori Layne Baggett and we cannot wait for her arrival. We've been prepping Cooper for his role as big brother and hopefully he understands at least a little of what we are telling him. My 3D ultrasound appointment is next Saturday and I truly feel like this is our chance to "meet" her before she actually gets here because Cooper looks a lot like what we got to see when we did the 3D with him. I'm so anxious! She will be moving into what was Cooper's baby room and her bedding has been ordered. I'll provide a few pictures once it's in, but that will be close to the end of the month. Stay tuned for more updates as they come and her pictures too!! April 21, 2009 - It's a GIRL!!!
Yes, for those of you who are super observant, this is actually a picture from Peek A Baby 2 months after we knew it was a girl! But it shows all her "girliness" so much clearer that I posted it anyway. :) |
