Gettin' in the
Groove!
Not only are we getting in the groove of being a FOURsome now, but I'm
seriously in the Holiday groove already. I've got most of my
shopping done (as of 11/13) and I'm ready to start wrapping and pull out
that tree! My hope is to finish up my shopping on Black Friday
this year, I like to be ahead of the game and all but I can't resist
those deals. I also hope that by being finished early I can enjoy
the month of December making new holiday traditions with my family; like
going to see Christmas lights, Santa and other fun stuff like that.
Well here we are! A
family of four
Sorry for the extreme length between
updates but hopefully you understand our life is a little hectic right
now. Cooper is wonderful (still) and Kori is a great baby - but
the people that say having 2 makes you busy... well they ain't lyin'!
As you can see to the left, I've added a photo album for Kori as well as
a personal page just like I did with Cooper. I've got everything
updated on a basic level and hopefully can go back and add some new
stuff before I go back to work full-time. There's just not enough
time in the day. I've been working on birth announcements (they
are almost done people, I promise) as well as Halloween costumes and my
regular crafty projects...not to mention raising my two kids.
Halloween pictures coming soon too (I'm sure)!
Do you see what I
see? - 4D ultrasound for baby girl
I wouldn't normally udpate this close
together but this will be a short and very sweet one. My 4D ultrasound
appointment was at Peek A Baby yesterday, June 20, 2009. We saw
Miss Kori Layne for the first time (in 4D at least) and she's a cutie,
but of course, I'm biased! A little disclaimer - she is currently
in a position in the womb that would be uncomfortable for any grown
adult. Her legs and arms are all positioned basically right in
front of her face. According to the ultrasound tech it can take a
few days to work legs up and down so I was pleased with the pictures we
were able to get and now I understand a little better why her kicks hurt
a lot right now! Poor little thang.... A series of pictures
from the appointment have been posted on the
Our Baby Girl page. However,
for viewers with limited time I have posted one from Kori's appointment
and one from Cooper's appointment 2.5 years ago to the right!!
Spring has Sprung
and gone - So far Summer is Sizzlin'!
The Baggetts are in the process of having a busy and FUN summer!
We wanted to do a few things just for Cooper since his whole world is
about to be turned upside down around September with the birth of his
little sister Kori. The first trip we planned in our little man's
honor was a trip to San Antonio. It was a nice weekend trip so we
packed a lot of fun in just two days. We left early Saturday
morning and after arriving at the Omni hotel and getting checked in we
headed off to the San Antonio Zoo. It was recently featured as the
#6 zoo in the United States by Parents Magazine. So we were very
excited about the adventure. Cooper enjoyed it very much (this was
his second zoo trip) even though it was a whopping 98 degrees that
weekend. We saw everything there was to see at the zoo and left
hot and happy. We enjoyed dinner out that evening and spent the
rest of the night in our hotel room - cleaning up and cooling off.
This was also Cooper's first night in a hotel room so believe me,
playing in the hotel room was an activity in and of itself!!! We
woke rather early on Sunday to get packed back up and headed out for our
busy day. We stopped for breakfast on the way to SeaWorld.
We were at SeaWorld all morning and managed to see all the exhibits and
a few shows as well. On our way back to Cooper's favorite exhibit
- the sharks - he feel asleep in his stroller. That was our sign
that he was pooped and we were safe to leave without upsetting the
little guy. So we headed home. He slept for 2.5 hours of the
3.5 hour drive home and hasn't stopped talking about the "big fishy
park" since! I think we made an impression on him and I'm so happy
about that!!!
Stay tuned we have even more planned for the summer including his first
trip to the beach! We hope to return to SeaWorld at least once
more this year but that has not been assigned to a specific weekend yet.
Wow! I can't
believe it's been so long since I've updated!
Well we just celebrated Cooper's 2nd
birthday and it was another huge success! He's such a joy and so
much fun to watch grow up into a smart and sweet young boy. At his
2 year check up he weighed 25 lbs 2 oz and was 34 and 3/4 inches tall.
He's still in about the 20th percentile for his weight and right at 50th
percentile for height. He's had a few hungry days since that 2 year
check up though so I have no doubt he'll catch up with the others his age
eventually.
Not to take away from my little man, but as a family we have a bit of
additional exciting news. We are expecting our second (and final)
baby in September. My current due date is September 15th but we've
discovered the same high blood pressure problems I had with Cooper so
it's likely that this baby will also be a few weeks early. I'm
still hoping for a September baby, but it might be more like the 1st
than the 15th. Regardless we are all excited whenever the arrival
of the little one is!
And lastly, since it HAS been forever since I've updated. Cooper
will be starting a Mother's Day Out program at Central Baptist Church
this summer. The summer camp is only for the month of June, so it
is short. However, I think it will be just right to give him the
exposure to "school" and other kids his age that he will be really
excited to continue the program in the fall which begins in September.
He will be going once a week in the summer and then twice a week in the
fall. If you ask him, Cooper are you ready to go to school?
He smiles and says uh huh! So he is getting the concept and I
think he truly is excited! As are we.
So I think that about sums it up for now. Again, for any of who
you do follow the website I apologize for such a long delay in updating.
What can I say it's busy with a 2 year old around the house!!!
The Start of
Another Year...
No, its not the start of a
calendar year, but the start of Cooper's 2nd year. We just
finished his BIRTHDAY BASH and watching him change just over the last
month is amazing! I am ashamed to admit, but I totally forgot
about taking him to see the Easter Bunny last year. So even though
this is Coop's second Easter, today was his first trip to visit the big
bunny. He loved him! I mean, I realize he isn't smiling in
the picture, but I think that is more related to this little separation
anxiety phase we are going through, not the fact that he was scared.
He played with Bunny's ears and his giant bow tie, but sitting in his
lap was only slightly tolerable. He did it though!
On a totally unrelated note, Casey has PRK lasik eye surgery done today
and can see without the assistance of glasses or contacts! The
recovery time is pretty short and apparently the resulting pain is not
that bad. He was given a few sleeping pills and a few pain pills
and that was it. He is VERY happy to have been given the
opportunity to have the surgery and for it to have been a success!
Just the THREE of
us
Well he's here now and just precious! You can go see for yourself
on the Cooper Baggett page! We will be updating his page
regularly.
Our
Baby will have his milestones and doctor's appointment updates and
Cooper Baggett
is where you can find photos of him. Trust me, we aren't short on
photos!
We are getting along wonderfully as a family. He's an easy baby
and so far everybody loves him and he seems to love everybody right
back! Stay tuned to watch him grow!
Our NEW and
IMPROVED Family
We are now starting a
family of our own! Well we've been the proud "parents" of two
Chinese pugs for four years now but just one day before Casey's 30th
birthday we got confirmation that we are expecting our
first child.
A quick 18 weeks later, we got confirmation that it is very much a BOY!
So our journey continues as husband and wife and now parents-to-be.
We are so thrilled about our little addition and will try to keep our
family updated on our journey through this site. Please go to the
Our Baby page for
the latest updates. Our bundle of joy will be here sooner than we
expected! Enjoy!!
Our Story
We spent most of our lives knowing each other and growing
up together. Although we were always friends it was never really
more until after high school. Before that though, we attended the
same grade school, middle school and high school. We also worked
together for a little more than a year with a cousin of mine at a
Houston-area Horse & Tack supply store. Apparently that is where
it all began. A few years pass and we hadn’t been in touch like we
usually were because Kristin was off at school in College Station and
Casey was living in Iola, a small town about 30 miles northeast of
College Station. Just looking to catch up on old times Kristin
called him up and I guess you could say the rest is history. We
dated for 3 years and 5 months before getting engaged on April 24th,
Kristin’s birthday. The
wedding was the following year in Cypress,
TX on March 13, 2004. And this bring us to now~ as we experience
life as husband and wife.
